This is an exceptional trip which takes you through the Gardens of Macedonia, in a valley full of vineyards and fruit trees. To best enjoy its highlights, you will travel from Thessaloniki to Edessa via ancient Pella (left), which was the Capital of Macedonia and birth place of Alexander the Great. In Pella, your driver will walk you around the excavations, pointing out the remains of buildings and habitations with their well preserved mosaics, all dating from 4th Century b.c. King Phillip II planned the conquest of Greece from Pella. Alexander III planned the conquest of the world.
Because this tour of Greece isn't just about its fascinating historic past it will reveal to you the untrammeled beauties of nature in Greece, far from the throngs of tourists and where you may leisurely walk, hike, swim, fish, white water raft, canoe, cave, hang glide, balloon and so much more. You'll surely discover localities you will want to revisit at a later stage.

For the uninitiated, we next suggest visiting the uniqiue township of Edessa with streams and waterfall running through its streets and purported home of the legendary King Midas. Then enjoy the Greek country side on our way to Naoussa for  a delicious lunch and then on to Veria, where you may follow the footsteps of St. Paul. Last recommended stop is ancient Vergina, to admire the museum and the Royal Tombs, of Philip II, father of Alexander the Great.
This is a full day tour and we suggest you to start as early as possible. It is up to you to modify your tour, visiting the most interesting areas like Vergina and Pella. (Pella below)
